What is your first reaction when you see TV news footage of communities in need in the US or around the world?  You want to help!  Before you gather your clothing donations, rush to someone's aid, or try to engage in a mission trip - the first step is to learn how to help and be an effective leader.

Are you aware of the 6 Best Practices for an UMVIM Team?

If you want to learn how to lead a mission trip, of any kind (construction, educational, medical/dental, evangelistic, local pastor training/congregational development, sewing, agricultural, etc.) in an effective manner and to places like Africa, Haiti or Joplin, Missouri, then UMVIM training is for you.
Even if you have had the training in the past but have not gone through a class in the last five years, you need to attend a VIM training for a refresher course.  *Some Methodist-endorsed mission sites require a VIM training certificate of completion.  Please scroll down for MinistrySafe requirements for our UMVIM Team Leaders.

**Please check back for future training's**

Since the Central Texas Conference of Churches covers a large territory, we are attempting to make it as convenient as possible for you to attend this training by offering different training locations. (We need 7 registrants to hold a class.)  If your church is interested in hosting a class, please click on the button.  If you have questions, contact Dana Dickey at danadickey@ctcumc.org or 817.877.5222.

**MinistrySafe is the official abuse prevention system for all churches in the Central Texas Conference (CTC).  ALL new UMVIM Team Leaders are now required to be compliant with this policy.  This is for the safety of our children, youth and vulnerable adults.  (All current UMVIM Team Leaders are asked to become MInistrySafe compliant.)  Please contact your local church in order to complete the on-line training and screening process which includes background check, application, interview and reference checks.  This must be completed before your training class and the MinistrySafe Compliance Form verifying that all steps have been completed must be filled out and returned to Katherine Hunter, North & East District District Administrator, before you can attend the training.  Let us be good stewards of caring for God’s people!  You may email the form to danadickey@ctcumc.org, fax it to 817-338-4541 or mail it to: Central Texas Conference, Attn: Dana Dickey, 3200 E. Rosedale St.  Fort Worth  TX  76105.
