Our Missional Priorities
Multiply Jesus Followers / Champion Children and Youth / Maximize Care and Healing Pursue and Embrace Diversity / Tell Our Story
These five Strategic Missional Priorities help focus and guide our conference's and local church ministries and programs, so that everything we’re doing is working in support of our Strategic Vision and Mission.
The Missional Priorities are not empty slogans. Rather, they are actions and areas of intentional focus necessary to reestablish and grow our trust with and missional involvement in our communities, state and world today and throughout the next three to five years, as well as laying a strong foundation for generations of United Methodists in the year 2050 and beyond.
Our mission as United Methodists remains to make followers of Jesus Christ for the world's transformation. But in our conferences , we are committed to multiplying Jesus Followers who model a life worth living and live out a transformed life in front of a broken world for God's glory.
This is a big undertaking but an important one. Jesus put children at the center of his ministry; he welcomed and cared for children – and so must we. We will strive to enrich, support , and advocate for the spiritual , emotional, and social needs of children , youth, and their families.
Everywhere we look, we see the interplay of various factors that contribute to unhealthy individual and social well-being . Our churches are uniquely able to speak hope and life. We will offer systems of support , resources, and training that lead to wholeness and restoration.
To pursue and embrace diversity is to reflect the Kingdom of God and align with the belief that all people are created in the image of God and have inherent sacred worth and dignity. A racially diverse denomination reflects the beauty and richness of God's creation , mirroring the diversity found in humanity.
To move toward Christ's vision of a loving, just, and free world for all people, we will take the message of God's hope and love beyond the walls of our churches and into the community. We will share stories of hope, grace, and healing in our person-to-person interactions and the headlines.
