UMCOR Relief Supply Kits
Relief kits help provide care for the most vulnerable people during times of crisis.
UMCOR collects hygiene and cleaning kits for distribution within the United States. Kits help sustain everyday life for people who lack ready access to essential supplies when a disaster strikes. Relief grants will be offered to international partners to allow for local purchase and assembly of kits which are more culturally appropriate.

Cleaning Kits
Hurricanes Helene and Milton caused wide-spread damage across a large area in the southeastern United States. Six United Methodist conferences are involved in the response efforts that began immediately following the storms. One of the initial actions has been to distribute UMCOR cleaning kits or flood buckets to affected people.
UMCOR depots across the country have been left with few supplies for any future events. So, now it is our turn to assist again in rebuilding those stocks.
We are asking churches across the Horizon Texas Conference to host assembly drives for as many cleaning kits as they can manage. Please visit UMCOR's cleaning kit page for a list of required items, as well as a video detailing how to assemble a kit. It is important that the items listed are the only ones included in the kits and that the instructions are followed closely.
HTC leaders are identifying collection points for assembled kits. These will be strategically located around the conference, allowing for easy collection, consolidation and transportation to an UMCOR depot. Contact names for each collection point, as well as drop-off times, will be added as they become available.

The deadline to have your kits at the collection point is Tuesday, November 19, 2024. This will help us arrange transportation to a depot before Thanksgiving.
