Church leaders will be invited to attend three additional workshops throughout the first year:
 

• The senior pastor will be assigned a directive coach for support and accountability for the next 18 months.
• Quarterly progress reports will be supplied to Smith Center for Evangelism, Mission & Church Growth and the local church’s District Superintendent.
• The senior pastor, church leaders and congregation will be responsible for the vision and mission, as well as implementation of key growth milestones derived from the GROW weekend and other resources.

The intent of this process is to nurture a culture of church growth by either kick-starting a new direction or helping sustain an existing effective vision and mission.

STEP 1:

Complete the GROW request form below and submit it to your District Superintendent (DS). Upon approval by the DS, the DS will submit the request to Rev. Meg Witmer-Faile, Associate Director, Center for Evangelism, Mission & Church Growth (CEMCG). The submitted request will initiate the GROW process with the CEMCG.

STEP 2:

Attend the GROW weekend workshop scheduled with the CEMCG. 

Weekend Timeline:

Saturday 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. workshop with working lunch.

Sunday worship followed by planning session with working lunch.

Grow team leader(s) will facilitate workshops and preach at each worship service.

Note: Attendance at this workshop is required of clergy and all church leaders.

STEP 3:

Attend three Next Step GROW workshops (clergy & laity).

Workshops will be held on Saturdays* from 8:30am-12:30pm on the following topics…

• Leadership & Visioning
• Hospitality & Worship
• Missional Church & Intentional Discipleship

STEP 4:

Participate in Coaching (Transformational, Directive) Sessions and provide quarterly GROW updates to your DS and the CEMCG
