LSM Certification

Lay Servant Ministries is a leadership development program. It prepares lay people to minister in a variety of settings both within and beyond local churches. Lay servants minister through leading, caring, and communicating. The Central Texas Conference offers two separate certification tracks.

Certified Lay Servant Serves in the local church and beyond
Pulpit Supply After extensive training, those with gifts for preaching can offer to periodically lead worship services.

Though unique, each track includes classroom preparation and a discernment process with the pastor and church. If you think you might be interested, a good first step is to participate in the Lay Servant Ministries BASIC Course.
