A Celebration from the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry

The Central Texas Conference joins the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry in celebrating that the Office of Loans and Scholarships will be awarding over 2,800 students a total of $6 million in financial assistance for 2019! We are very thankful to all of our local churches that supported this effort in recognizing United Methodist Student Day, World Communion Sunday, and Native American Sunday which help fund a portion of our scholarships. The remaining funds for these awards come from gifts, annuities and endowments GBHEM has invested and administered for decades.

Central Texas Conference invites all students who are members of The United Methodist Church to apply for a Fall 2020 GBHEM scholarship online between January 3, 2020 – March 7, 2020, at www.gbhem.org/scholarshipapplication.

Student loans are also available at interest rates as low as 3.75% (lower than federal educational loan rates) with a creditworthy cosigner. Sometimes the United Methodist student loan helps fill the gap in funding for the student and their parents. The UM Student Spring Loan application is open now through May at www.gbhem.org/loanapplication.
