Christ’s Foundry United Methodist Mission (CF) makes disciples of Jesus Christ through holistically helping children, youth, and families in the North Love Field neighborhood in Dallas, Texas who speak Spanish, English, or both. In our Wesleyan tradition, helping others is a means of grace. The administrator of CF contributes to the mission of Christ’s Foundry through equipping the people of God for works of service by providing essential clerical and administrative support to the pastor, staff, congregation, and community of Christ’s Foundry.

Duties & Responsibilities: The Administrator will serve primarily in the three ministry areas listed below:

  • Office Administration
  • Assets Administration
  • Communication Office Administration:
  1. Provide hospitality to all who enter the church during office hours and connect both members and visitors to resources as necessary, including maintaining a clean office/welcome space
  2. Communicate with staff on congregational needs such as pastoral care or new visitors
  3. Maintain church membership rolls and attendance sheets, including baptisms, baptism and membership certificates, and other important documentation and files.
  4. Provide coordination for the Finance Team & communicate with church accountant
  5. Other office administration duties as assigned by the pastor or deemed needed by program staff.
Assets Administrator and Ministry Support:
  1. Recruit, equip, and deploy disciples for cleaning, maintaining, decorating, and improving the facilities and property of CF (office equipment and supplies, trash, landscaping, closets and storage, lights, van, equipment, Romero House, parking lot, office hours, etc.)
  2. Supervise the paid custodial assistant
  3. Assist in the maintenance and organization of ministry supplies and facility needs, including materials for children, youth, and adult classes.
  4. Works with the finance team and the church accountant in the processing of pledges, tithes, offerings, and deposits of offerings. Assisted with the church's accounting.
  5. Oversee and coordinate all building and equipment use (church events, outside groups, building rentals, weddings, quinceañeras, and all programming such as meetings, life groups, Project Transformation, music classes, nursery, kitchen disciples each Sunday morning, 9934 Webb Chapel, etc.) and ensure proper care and policies are followed for reservations, payments, usage, set-up, cleaning, etc.
  6. Serve as the liaison between users of the facility and the church as an entity with a focus on cus-tomer service.
  7. Ensure the security of the building, including the appropriate use of locks, alarms, and access.
  8. Maintain the facility, and especially the office, in an orderly and hospitable manner.
  9. Other asset administration and ministry support duties as assigned by the pastor or deemed needed by program staff.
Communication:
  1. Answer phone calls and email messages & communicate with appropriate persons.
  2. Assist ministry areas in producing fliers, brochures, signs, and promotional items. These include but are not limited to the signs on doors and in restrooms as well as maintain the information center located in the lobby of the mission.
  3. Create and print weekly bulletins
  4. Maintain fresh messages on external, digital message board
Skills:
  • Proven success and experience in servant leadership
    Must be bilingual (English & Spanish) & bicultural (experience working in communities with groups of people diverse in culture, ethnicity, religious/socioeconomic backgrounds)
  • Must be highly organized and have strong communication skills
  • Experience in organizing, inspiring, supporting, and encouraging volunteers
  • Competency in e-mail, social media, Microsoft Office and Quickbooks
  • Experience in coordinating numerous activities and comfort in multi-tasking
  • Desire to learn and to receive and apply feedback in order to continually grow and improve
  • Must be a team player who is comfortable working with a diverse staff
  • Must maintain open communication and close working relationship with the Pastor and staff Job Location:
  • Office hours at CF (shared office space)
Weekly meeting with the Pastor and staff will be required

Hours: Part-time, 20 hours per week with seasonal flexibility
  • Sundays 10:30am-1:30pm (3 hours)
  • Monday-Thursday daily office hours (16 hours)
  • Flex hours (1 hour)
  • The Mission is generally closed on Fridays
  • Saturdays have occasional events which have the opportunity for additional contract pay with persons renting the facility.
