Our current COVID-19 reality has seen a lot of innovation and new ideas tried by local churches in order stay connected to and worship with their congregation and community. While the modern streaming and teleconferencing tools available today have been a successful resource for many, for some it just isn’t feasible. You have to know your audience to reach your audience and that’s why Rev. Brad Slaten, pastor of King Memorial and Blum UMCs quickly “hopped in the Way Back Machine” and embraced an “outdated by modern standards” technology, an early form of Netflix if you will and started delivering DVDs of the weekly services to his congregations homes.
