WIG Video Narratives - Behind the Scenes

October 24, 2019

The mission of the Central Texas Conference Service Center (CTCSC) is to energize and equip local churches to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Some of the ways that the CTCSC Communications team works toward that mission is by sharing and providing information, news, and resources to and for our local churches to help in their efforts to reach out to their communities and the world. Perhaps our most effective way of energizing and equipping is by sharing the narratives of how God is working in and through the local churches of the CTC in support of our Wildly Important Goal (WIG). And the stories we get to share via video (something we’ve oh so originally titled “WIG Video Narratives.”) are our favorites to produce.

Not only do these video narratives allow us to tell stories – YOUR STORIES – in a quick, entertaining and easy-to-share format, but they also allow us to get out of the office and out into the mission fields of our conference; providing our Communications team to get to better know the movers and shakers of our conference and see firsthand how you are actively making disciples of Jesus in your communities. This week, in a slight departure from the local church narratives we’ve shared for the last few months, we decided to take a risk and turn the camera on ourselves and give you a quick behind the scenes peek at what goes on when we pack up, head to your church/faith community and begin to tell your story . We hope you enjoy the following short behind-the-lens look at the WIG Video Narratives production process. As always, if you have a story to tell, please let us know it’s happening BEFORE it happens if possible so that we can do our best to be there to capture the moment.

The Central Texas Conference's Wildly Important Goal (or WIG) is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. One of the most effective and exciting ways we do this by launching New Places for New People to get to meet and know God through Jesus Christ - something the Central Texas Conference calls New Faith Communities. Please visit www.ctcumc.org/WIG-stories to see more narratives from our exciting New Faith Communities.
