WIG and Project Transformation

December 11, 2018

The mission of Project Transformation (PT) is to engage young adults in purposeful leadership and ministry, support children in holistic development and connect churches with communities. For the past two summers, local churches of the Central Texas Conference have actively lived out The WIG and assisted PT in its mission by providing host churches, volunteers and assisting (praying for and feeding) the PT summer interns. And the CTC’s efforts have been fruitful in myriad ways.

A couple of the most obvious way are that the Children from low-income neighborhoods in the conference have improved their literacy, social-emotional and spiritual development through participating in high-quality, out-of-school time programs led by college-age young adults. And, more importantly, they’ve learned that they are loved and special children of God.

Also,, the local churches that host the out-of-school time programs and those who send volunteers to read and assist with the children are reconnecting and building relationships with the people in and around their church.

However, there is another very powerful way that the WIG is playing out through Project Transformation – through the transformation of the interns. Growing the next generation of leadership for the church and making disciples through missional outreach are key components to the WIG.
Please take a few moment to view the video below and see how PT 2018 transformed the lives of two interns in powerful and lasting ways.
