Meet Rev. Derek Jacobs, AC23 Guest Preacher

Bishop Ruben Saenz, Jr. has announced Rev. Derek Jacobs to be the Guest Preacher for the 2023 Central Texas Annual Conference. “Rev. Jacobs is a dynamic preacher who will set an excited, forward looking and hope-filled tone for our Annual Conference gathering,” stated Bishop Saenz. “Derek’s conviction, experience and success in Empowering and Equipping congregations so that they may Excel in their mission today and in years down the road is inspiring. I know we’ll be blessed by his message and time with us.”

Rev. Jacobs currently serves as the lead pastor of The Village United Methodist Church in DeSoto, Texas. He also serves as the Chair of the North Texas Conference Order of Elders as well as the proud husband to Season and father to Dayson and Haylo.

 

Derek is a graduate of Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University where he earned a Master of Divinity Degree in May 2007, an Ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church and is a member of the North Texas Annual Conference. Derek is strongly committed to his calling and has a strong passion for starting new faith communities and lives by the motto of "See it! Believe it!! Execute it!!!"
