FUMC Burleson Family Style Worship - A CTC WIG Narrative

October 16, 2019

After having discussions with church members and staff, as well as folks in the community, First United Methodist Church in Burleson, TX, realized that there was an opportunity to introduce a new way of worship to better meet the needs and comfort levels of folks who were not yet part of a faith community. As a result, Family Style - a casual worship and dinner community on Saturday nights – was launched.

Family Style of Burleson Mission is to be a "casual worship community for families of all shapes and sizes, who want to know and share the love of Jesus in our community, and where everyone has a place at the table. Adults, youth, and children come together at the table to share a meal and worship and through that have become family.

More than 30 people in and around the Burleson community have found a church home at FUMC Burleson because of the inviting community that Family Style brings. Check the video below to find out more about this New Faith Community.

The Central Texas Conference's Wildly Important Goal (or WIG) is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. One of the most effective and exciting ways we do this by launching New Places for New People to get to meet and know God through Jesus Christ - something the Central Texas Conference calls New Faith Communities. Please visit www.ctcumc.org/WIG-stories to see more narratives from our exciting New Faith Communities.
