At the core of everything we do in the Central Texas Conference is our Wildly Important Goal of Making Disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World. While that Wildly Important Goal has led many to down obvious, straight and narrow paths toward introducing Christ to our communities and the world, sometimes it causes us to get “messy” - especially when it comes to disciple-making mission work. “Mission” is a word that is oft associated with well-established and effective ministries like building wheelchair ramps, engaging in disaster response efforts, providing nets and education in the battle to eradicate malaria, and so on. However, as Dr. Leah Hidde-Gregory, Central District Superintendent, explains in our latest WIG Video Narrative, it is in the mission work that leads us toward having conversations and "rubbing elbows with our neighbors," that we can build the best relationships that lead toward making disciples of Jesus Christ – no matter how “messy the mission” seems to be.
